1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to Find My Phone By Clapping (the "Application"). By using the Application, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on how you use the Application, we may collect or process device information, app interaction data, diagnostic data, crash logs, app performance data, advertising identifiers, phone state or basic phone state, network status, Wi-Fi status, storage-related information where supported, and settings related to clap detection, alerts, and utility tools.
The Application may process sound recognition data locally on your device to detect clap patterns. This processing is intended only to identify clap sounds for the phone-finding feature.
If you contact us directly, we may receive your email address and the information included in your message.
3. How Information Is Used
Information may be used to provide and maintain clap detection, foreground clap monitoring, sound alerts, vibration alerts, flash alerts, utility tools, app performance improvements, troubleshooting, analytics, advertising, attribution, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
Sound recognition information is processed in real time for clap detection and is not used to record conversations, analyze speech, or identify the content of spoken words.
4. Permissions and Device Access
The Application may request certain permissions depending on device type, operating system version, and the features you use. Based on the reviewed Android App Bundle, the Application may request the following permissions and device capabilities.
- Microphone: used to detect clap sounds when the clap-to-find feature is enabled. Audio processing is intended to happen locally on the device, and the Application does not use microphone access to steal data, record private conversations, or collect unrelated audio content.
- Foreground microphone service: used only while the Find by Clap feature is enabled. It keeps clap detection active in the foreground so the app can listen for clap sounds and trigger sound, vibration, or flash alerts to help you find your nearby phone.
- Camera / Flash: used to support flashlight alert features where available on your device. The camera permission is not used to take photos for the phone finder feature.
- Vibration: used to provide vibration alerts when a clap is detected.
- Audio settings: used to support alert volume, ringtone, and related sound behavior for phone finder alerts.
- Notifications and cloud messaging: may be used to provide service notices, alert status, app-related updates, or phone finder status messages where supported.
- Network, Wi-Fi state, and Internet access: used to load online services, ads, analytics, crash reporting, updates, attribution, or support features.
- Phone state or basic phone state: may be used for compatibility, diagnostics, advertising measurement, fraud prevention, or service optimization. The Application does not use this access to read call audio, text messages, contacts, or personal conversations.
- Usage access and task information: may be used for utility, process, or app-management features where supported and permitted by Android.
- Storage access: may be used on supported Android versions for media, cache, utility, or file-related features included in the Application.
- Advertising ID, Android AdServices, install referrer, and attribution: used for ads, analytics, attribution, frequency control, fraud prevention, install source measurement, and related advertising services.
The reviewed App Bundle does not request location permission. You can manage many permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work properly if required permissions are disabled.
5. Third-Party Services
The Application may use third-party providers for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, install attribution, cloud messaging, platform support, and related online services. These providers may process limited information according to their own privacy policies.
Third-party services may include Google Play Services, Firebase services, Google advertising services, analytics and crash reporting services, install attribution services, and advertising mediation partners depending on the app version and distribution channel.
6. Opt-Out Rights
You can stop information collection by uninstalling the Application. You may also manage permissions such as microphone, camera, notifications, storage, phone state, usage access, and related permissions through your device settings. Disabling certain permissions may limit clap detection, flash alerts, or other related features.
7. Ads and Analytics
The Application may be supported by ads and may use analytics tools to understand app performance, measure engagement, diagnose technical issues, prevent fraud, and improve user experience. Advertising services may use device identifiers, Advertising ID, Android AdServices signals, install referrer data, or related technical data where permitted by law and platform settings.
8. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including operation, support, security, legal compliance, and dispute resolution.
Sound recognition data used for clap detection is processed in real time and is not stored by the Application as an audio recording. It is discarded after processing. Local settings, alert preferences, cached content, and similar app data remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the Application.
You can delete local app data by clearing the Application's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the Application. Third-party providers may retain analytics, advertising, crash, attribution, or diagnostic data according to their own policies and legal obligations.
9. Children's Privacy
The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect information associated with the Application. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Audio Privacy: clap detection is intended to process audio locally on your device. The Application does not create audio recordings for clap detection and does not transmit clap-detection audio to our servers.
11. Your Consent
By using the Application, you consent to the processing of information as described in this Privacy Policy. By enabling microphone access, you consent to local audio processing solely for detecting clap patterns used by the phone-finding feature.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Application after changes take effect means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
